i love that NME are all over their blog discussing lady gaga. is she, or is she not, over rated?
it's just funny.
ah lads, didn't think ye cared!
the reason I find this so funny is because to me it just suggests that prehaps people are not comfortable with a lady who doesn't need to strip off to her undies to sell records and wears whatever the damn hell she likes. (note how it's all men writing these sort of 'reports')
I think men find it a lot more comfortable being able to label lady singers. like good girl (ellie goulding), good girl with bad gal edge (kylie) and the down right slutty (rihanna and the such like) it must confuse them that GaGa doesn't conform to the normality.
I do agree with one point made, that gaga is taking dress up and performance from the days of David Bowie and the such and progressing it forward for a new age. but, in saying that, sometimes her music can be a bit much and not up to the standard of Bowie.
I think there is a lot of bitterness following her storming out of a shoot with Q magazine recently. (as to me Q and NME are the same- kinda like hotpress to an extent) she walked out after being unhappy with a shoot. and was quickly labelled a diva.
now we don't know both sides really. we don't know if she was being a diva, or, if the photos were simply just shit. but what we do know is that lady G is very tightly organised and looks after her image. she's controlling about it. so Q should have prepared for that. and not taken to the blogs bitching about it,
like playground kids.
can't we all just get along?
