Ah the Boxing Day sales.
I loathe it but I shop it.
I would be lying if I said I didn't benefit from them. Especially now that I am trying to make a new wardrobe that better suits my age (31) instead of the stuff I have had for years.
So here is what I have bought so far!
LOVE for Topshop Playsuit.
This is a mistake and will be returned. I saw it in person in the shop and I feel very differently about it now! Bit of a mistake to be honest. I think I'm so desperate to find something ANYTHING to wear to a wedding in April that I let my senses cloud over.
SUNGLASSES BY QUAY AUSTRALIA
I've needed sunglasses for a while now. Something to do the job while I am saving to replace my raybans. They were stolen in 2012 and I've not been able to replace them ever since. So I quite like these. They were £24 reduced from £30. I was really torn between the two colours but I think I prefer these. I think black are a lot easier to work with.
I also bought a plain white t-shirt because, well, they are incredibly useful! I also bought a HUGE pair of Hayden jeans too. I say HUGE because I bought a size 14 thinking I was bigger then I am. I could have done with a 12 at the biggest. Still, don't care and I am going to keep them as I actually love them.
I cannot find a really cute floral shirt dress I found either! So I'm minus two images already.
I then went to the Zara sale. This is a new thing for me.
I gave up on Zara when I was younger as I hated shopping in their shops (still do) and prefer shopping online. However, thanks to being 6ft tall, they rarely have anything I can wear in there. I prefer to stick to places where I can 'almost' fit the clothing!!
My first purchase was this dress with this weird tuck detail in the front. I'm trying to get some fun basics that I don't have to put a lot of thought into. I like that this has a 90s arty vibe to it and is stress free. I could just wear my usual boots and a shirt with it. Also at £16, I wasn't about to argue. My only complaint is that it is dark grey not black.
This was a surprise purchase.
I really liked the sleeve detail on this. It has a knot/bow detail on the sleeve which is unusual. I also really liked the colour. I don't normally do green so we shall see how this works out with my wardrobe. I like the idea of this for over leggings but I do like it on the pleated skirt as shown in the pictures.
Even if those skirts rarely suit me!
So that is it for clothing so far. I get paid in a few days and I am going to try get a few more pieces then. I am looking to replace my older clothing which new and improved 'select' pieces that I can layer with.
I did get some make up though!
Illamasqua Sketch Stick
I have a thing for these! I got one a few weeks ago as a gift (thank you!!) and I fell in love with it. Since there is no Illamasqua in Nottingham, I decided to wait until I was in Leeds before getting anymore. However they went into the sale at 70% off so I got two! I got the blue and the pink ones so I can mix them. I also have the yellow as well. Not bad for £4.50.
